Welcome to the 2018-2019 Season!

Welcome to our 2018-2019 new year!

The board has worked hard this summer to bring some fresh ideas to our chapter sessions. As information governance and records management professionals ourselves, we recognize the need to stay relevant and knowledgeable in rapidly evolving technologies and trending new business models. What better way to learn than to meet up with colleagues and peers to explore and share best practices?

To increase member and guest engagement with chapter sessions, we are innovating this year to take our activities to a new level.  Instead of the monthly routine of dinner-and-presentation-at-the-same-old-restaurant, we are holding events at various locations across the region to reach more members.  Watch for our fresh approach to meeting times, venues and formats. Here's a sampling of coming events:

  • Attend a "Lab" on Human v. Machine, where we will explore how new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics can help organizations to better govern information. Join an interactive lab to find out which is better at classifying-- Human or Machines?  If you are up to the challenge, join us in November!

  • Leverage our reduced event pricing by registering for ARMA NOVA “Bytes,” a panel discussion event with hors d’oeuvres and networking rather than a dinner experience – admission will be $20 for members and $25 for non-members with a $5 discount for early birds – check out our Sept Privacy Bytes event.

  • Join a free webinar to bring you experts from across the country – check out our March event on Immigration Records.

  • Tour of iconic Washington DC institutions with ARMA NOVA to learn about our nation’s history and information governance practices by these organizations – check out our December and February events.

  • And we are continuing to partner with our local ARMA and AIIM chapters, as well as local universities to reach out to students and broaden our educational program - Check out our February Presidential Records event.

Review our year’s program and read about our updated membership and participation benefits. We want to be the organization you come to for learning and networking with the best records and information governance professionals in our area to advance your goals.  We believe that our chapter can help you build success through relationships.

Come back and visit our website throughout the year as the details of our upcoming events become available. In the meantime, if you have questions, please feel free to reach out to me at
